But then, you realize that it's not really funny. It's just plain bad. And the laughter you experienced morphs into a wistful, melancholic sound.
Ultimately, you are left with a sense of utter perplexity. You question about the purpose of it all. Was this intended to be funny?
Or were we just living in a simulation gone wrong?
A Disaster of Epic Proportions
The volcanic eruption struck with devastating force, consuming entire villages in its path. Buildings shattered like fragile toys, and the roar that erupted was deafening. Thousands were trapped beneath wreckage, their fate uncertain. The magnitude of the disaster was unprecedented, forcing Very bad survivors to face a future forever scarred.

Worst Day Ever
It all started with a terrible case of bedhead hair. I couldn't figure it to look presentable. As I was hurrying out the door, I trippedon and landed all over the floor. To make matters worse, I was completely behind schedule for school.
I panting. My {boss|teacher|was absolutely furious. I attempted to explain, but it was no use.
The rest of the day was just as bad. Everything. I stay awake.
By the time I reached my destination, I was exhausted. This day, this atrocious day will be forever remembered as an epic fail.

It all started out horribly with a simple mishap/incident/screw-up. But then it went from bad to absolutely terrible. A series/chain/cascade of unfortunate/awful/disastrous events unfolded/occurred/piled on top each other, leaving me feeling like I was in a nightmare/horror movie/comedy of errors. It's the kind of situation where you just want to throw your hands up.
